Patents

Patents protect and enhance a technical or scientific innovation. An invention can be a product or a process, which gives a new solution to a specific technological problem.

About

Patent, or more appropriately, patent for innovation, is a legal title whereby the holder has an exclusive exploitation right on his invention, in an area and for a certain period. Patent guarantees the holder that nobody can produce, sell or use his own invention without an authorisation.
Patent holder not always gets a monopoly power on the relative market: for many reasons the holder may not be able to sell his innovative product.
Invention is a new and original solution to a specific technical problem, and it could be a product or a process.
