The latest update following the first round of the Diesel vs. Zara legal battle.

Otb, the group founded by Renzo Rosso that encompasses brands such as Diesel, Maison Margiela, and Marni, recently won a case before the Milan court against the Inditex group, which controls the well-known Zara brand. The Milan Court upheld the company's arguments in the 2015 lawsuit against the Spanish company, which was accused of reproducing jeans produced by Diesel and sandals designed by Marni under the Zara brand.

Although the Spanish group argued that there were substantial differences between its products and those of OTB, arguing that the Court was unable to compel compensation for damages because it was a foreign company not established in Italy, the judges ruled that the registered design of the Skinzee-sp jeans model and the unregistered design of the Fussbett footwear model had been infringed.

This isn't the first time the Iberian group has been implicated in similar accusations. Just over a year ago, the Danish label Rains, specializing in rainwear, filed a lawsuit against Inditex before the Danish Commercial Court for design infringement and unfair competition, demanding the immediate cessation of sales of an allegedly infringing model and compensation for the resulting loss of profits.
