Balenciaga faces further legal trouble. The Kering-owned fashion house continues to generate controversy for its design inspiration from pop-culture consumer products. After its luxury versions of the Ikea bag, Balenciaga, headed by designer Demna Gvasalia, has this time released a pine-tree keychain that appears to be inspired by the famous car air fresheners. Arbre Magique The Balenciaga key ring is on sale for 195 euros in light blue, pink, green, and black and is made of soft calfskin, while the perfume diffuser costs 1.66 euros.

The company Car-Freshner Corporation and Julius Sämann Ltd, owner of the products Arbre magique , has thus decided to sue the Kiering group's fashion house for not having asked permission to use the famous colored pine, as other brands have done when starting a collaboration.

The famous stylized fir tree has already been adopted by other companies producing goods other than perfume diffusers, including the Anya Hindmarch brand but always in agreement with Car-Freshner Corporation and Julius Sämann Ltd.
